My admiration for Blade Runner 2049 comes from a place that values Villeneuve's formalism, Roger Deakins' gorgeous cinematography, Dennis Gasser's remarkable production design, and even Benjamin Wallfisch and Hans Zimmer's unrelenting yet immersive score.
