Review of Blade Runner (1982) by Nicholas C — 06 Oct 2017
Blade Runner 2049 opens this weekend, so I made a point to watch the original Blade Runner. Having never seen the movie before, not a single scene, I had no idea what to expect. The film receives rave reviews from just about every critic, but at thirty-six-years-old I had doubts about how well it would hold up in light of advances in tech, film quality, etc. Wow. What a great movie. The plot, the dystopian setting, the acting, the moral and philosophical conundrums presented, all excellent and noteworthy. Easily one of the best movies I have ever watched. Makes me want to read, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?".
One of those rare moments when the product meets the hype.
