Much better than the atrocious 'Blade', this has a better plot, better direction, better characters, and as such, you can overlook the wooden performance from Wesley Snipes as our charisma-free hero.

You can trace Guillermo del Toro's mainstream path here from the likes of 'Mimic' to the much more polished and likeable 'Hellboy' films, although it is a far cry from his beautiful Spanish films.

Nice to see a Marvel movie with an adult rating, some inventive gore, and better action than some of the better known superheroes have delivered in their films, although in some fight scenes, the unnecessary CGI is seriously poor.
