Review of Blade II (2002) by Geoffrey D — 19 Oct 2009
This is an excellent example of a sequel that is superior in almost every way to the original. This is in large part due to the superior direction, Guillermo Del Toro's work in this film is phenomenal.
This movie's creature effects and portrayal of vampire society is at the same time true to the original and superior to it. The artistic vision of this film is far more distinct than the almost cliche vampires of the first "Blade".
This film expands the way we as the viewer are forced to look at the vamire characters in the blade universe because this film depicts them as vulnerable and just as suceptible to humanity and emotion as we are.
If you are looking for a movie that has action that is next level and scares that are first rate than look no further than this movie, it is the best of both worlds.
