Review of Blade II (2002) by Deb S — 28 Mar 2010
"Is the enemy of my enemy my friend or my enemy?".
BLADE II has our antihero uneasily joining forces with the vampire league (The Bloodpack) to destroy the Reapers, who feed on vampires and humans; when the vampires are bitten they turn into Reapers, who are immune against garlic, and silver and only sunlight can kill them. The delectable Lenor Varela provides the romantic interest as a fellow vampire, and there are some pretty solid and strong performances from Ron Pearlman and Kris Krisoffen. We also get to see a lot more of the human 'side' of Blade and Luke Goss is really creepy as Nomak.
"Blade 2" will blow your mind, proving effortlessly that it out does its predecessor easily where we have a straight forward plot , gadgets, fantastic effects and some amazing action. Guillermo del Toro takes the Blade franchise to its fulfillment. Highly recommended.
"There's an old saying: Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.".
