An awesome addition to the vampire genre! Del Toro's Blade 2 features some of the scariest vamps in years: the Reapers, bloodsuckers that feed on humans and vampires alike. Sure, there's a little bit of Mary-Suing on Blade's part, but the movie doesn't suffer too terribly from it.
The monsters are scary, the story is solid, the characters are actually characters...Blade 2 is a worthy addition to the Blade franchise and vampire lore. I would hope that Del Toro continues in this vein, but I've already seen the folly of hope in Trinity.
