Review of Blade (1998) by Luigi P — 12 Feb 2018
Blade is an amazing movie with kick butt action and great acting.
Wesley Snipes does a great job as Blade, a vampire slayer who is also cursed with part vampirism. He is stonecold and with a cool voice all while performing intense and awesome action scenes against the undead. Said cool action is coupled with some cooler gadgets. His best one being his katanna which has an added deadly extra feature to it. It's not just Snipes that gets to shine. Kris Kristofferson plays Abraham Whistler, a veteran vampire hunter and wise mentor to Blade. And N'Bushe Wright as Dr. Karen Jenson, a ordinary woman who unfortunately gets wrapped up in the secret chaotic world of vampires and falls in love with Blade.
There are some flaws. Deacon Frost is a pretty boring villain. And the CGI hasn't aged well. And there is one really awkward scene with a kid.
Overall, it is a very enjoyable action movie with great action and gore.
