Review of Blade (1998) by Matthew K — 30 Oct 2010
Dark, brooding, and utterly bad-ass, Blade is a much more than it's premise would suggest. Stephen Norrington manages to create a visually arresting film, pulling off cliques such as time-lapse shots of cityscapes and MTV style editing and still achieving a sense of dark, neon -drenched artistry.
The cast all put in strong performances, while the action is kinetic and exciting; just watch the opening salvo in the blood-bathed vampire nightclub. Blade is well worth revisiting.
