This movie should be called "How NOT to handle a problem". Virtually every choice the trio made was the wrong choice. You have a dangerous villian who is guilty of human trafficing, murder, rape, animal abuse, and drug dealing with multiple witnesses and a mountain of evidence.
The police refused to help. Instead of calling the FBI, they go on a manhunt for him with literally 4 rounds of ammo. It takes place in Oregon which makes even less sense. If it was in an extremely remote state like Montana or Alaska it would be more plausible, but its friggin Oregon! It was an absolutely terrible, inplausible, and depressing movie.
It has no moral to the story except for demonstrating how not to handle a problem. Worst Anthony Hopkins movie I have ever seen.
