Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Jo M — 24 Dec 2018
I studied Spike Lee while in University. Lee's work is so bold and unique. This film was so perfectly timed. Clips from D W Griffiths "Birth of a Nation" to Raleigh, shows how some folks never change. Right, Mr Duke! This film is filled with superb performances. Washington and Driver were especially strong. Also, to the actors who played the Klansman, not easy to do but well done. These people are ridiculous and the actors played them truthfully and just let the absurdity just shine through. This is a brilliant film that I think will go down in history as one of.
The best films of all time. There is just too much that is inspired. A Blackman in the Klan! The signature Lee, "characters on a moving dolly taking the audience to today" is brilliant. Go see Blackkklansman!
