Not easy to pigeonhole this sometimes funny, sometimesterrifying movie..It's powerful, that's for sure. whit it certainly has a message to deliver, it is equally skeptical of those who call for white power or for black power.
the movie is anchored by amazing performances big and small and by an outstanding script woven through with moments from the past and present. people at the theater where I saw it were very emotional at the end, myself included.
five stars.
