Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Davey P — 11 Aug 2018
By almost all accounts, this is a good movie that takes a wholesome and obviously correct position against racism in America. By other accounts, this movie is another propaganda masterpiece that disregards all progress to dissolve present day racism. It exchanges another opportunity for "progress" to continue shameless baiting.
Eventually, there comes a time when you're taken out of politically charged movies. You take a step back and wonder whether and how movies like this and The First Purge inspire Americans---what direction it takes us.
Lessons learned: Detectives can be cool; bad people are stupid and bad; racism is not only bad but wrong; there is no such thing as a quiet theatre anymore.
