Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Kyle V — 13 Aug 2018
Spike Lee is not consistent with his movies at all but this is is a good one. Based on a true story that took place in Colorado Springs, CO it is a thrilling account of the early years of the civil rights movement.
This was filmed in a style reminiscent of Lee's early movies and I liked it a lot. Outstanding performances by nearly everyone. Adam Driver really stands out, as always, but there is a memorable cameo by Harry Belafonte.
A good deal of the movie is a critical comment on Trump and what is going on in the country now. I really recommend this one for lots of reasons. A very well done movie. .
