Review of Blackhat (2015) by Brian S — 19 Jan 2015
Blackhat is a predictable film from Michael Mann that just treads along at its own pace playing out like a stereotypical action film. Chris Hemsworth is a decent action star, but unfortunately he and the female lead have absolutely no chemistry that watching the their relationship play out is utterly dull.
It has it's directed moments and Michael Mann knows action, yet I felt a sense of déjà vu with how some of the action is. For example w scene when they are running to a train looks and feels like the exact same scene from Mann's Collateral.
Overall it's not a good film, but Blackhat has enough moments that it's somewhat watchable. Grade: D+.
