Review of Blackfish (2013) by Michele H — 21 Jan 2014
Absolutely fantastic documentary - this should be compulsory viewing - and it leaves me with not a skerrick of doubt that all of these 'amusement' parks should be closed immediately. These magestic beautiful animals are simply tortured in their enclosures.
I have so much admiration for the people who have worked in this industry who are now speaking out. Their love for these animals is so evident, it was incredibly moving. The awe and wonder I behold for these incredible, brilliant animals, with brains and hearts that humans can only DREAM of has just increased tenfold watching this.
I thought I would be emotionally eviscerated by this film, but I wasn't. Just utterly inspired to see the day that their captivity ends, and they are returned to their rightful home - where, if we should be so blessed, we may have the privilege to see them if we are on the right boat, at the right time - and they grace us with their presence.
