Review of Blackfish (2013) by Allan C — 21 Jun 2015
Although the film is at times emotionally manipulative and overly tear jerky, the film does present some pretty outrageous practices at SeaWorld, which I'm sure can easily be extrapolated to other sea parks.
Having lived close to Keiko's final sea park home before his unsuccessful release into the wild, it was already pretty obvious to me that orcas should not be held in captivity but this film revealed some cruel condition that were much worse than I'd ever imagined.
I'll certainly never be going to a SeaWorld or any other sea or land animal shows again. But more directly to this film, like the best of films, this one that reached a wide audience and actually resulted in changes, which the film get's big props for.
