Review of BlackBerry (2023) by Halofever — 09 Jun 2023

Watching this movie with my son who grew up in an era of iPhone dominance, it is he’d for him to understand how truly awful these devices were at the time. Blackberry captures that tone wonderfully and humorously.

I give high praise to the performances here. The leads are like fire and water. Exaggerated, yes, but they give you an idea of the confusion of a company that has co-CEOs. If you ever used a Balckberry, you can also see the confusion that went into the device itself.

The BlackBerry server was always suffering downtime, the phones kept locking up, and the battery kept popping out. In retrospect, Blackberries were ridiculous. The movie is like that only with the people and the company.
