Strong performances and action scenes entertain but, ultimately cannot salvage a pathetically weak script that no sane producer would ever greenlight. While the performances by ScarJo and, particularly, Florence Pugh give some reason for celebration, the treatment of TaskMaster (and the actor behind the mask) are a disgrace.
Also, Marvel appears to find no better way to show strong women than to surround them with pathetically inadequate male figures, betraying the source material and, ultimately, the audience. Both the cast and Marvel fans deserved much better.
The fact that we had to wait this long for this is just salt on an open wound.
