Just when I thought Captain Marvel was the worst in the MCU... this movie's existence is absolutely pointless to pushing the universe forward. It goes back to the events following Captain America: Civil War and seems to be utterly useless when all is said and done. Simply put, it's a movie to silence everyone whining about there not being a standalone Black Widow movie and nothing more.
The jokes fall flat, the CGI is good one minute, poor the next, the villain doesn't make his debut until the fourth quarter, leaving you wondering why you should care about any characters practically the whole way through. David Harbour's character is annoying, cringe-worthy, and just plain stupid, and will make you asking why you're paying to see it. Rachel Weisz is stale as can be.
All-in-all, this felt like a high-budget TV production. Perhaps Disney should have put it for free on their streaming platform.
