Review of Black Swan (2010) by Russell G — 01 Oct 2012
Stunning! Black Swan is overall the best psychological thriller I've ever seen and probably will see. The story is brilliantly and masterfully executed with twists to entertain and effects to translate what's going on to the general public.
The main lesson of the movie is about being perfect and striving to be perfect. Sometimes it's pure torture and if you put too much into being perfect, it will change you and harm you. The movie has a twisted enough side of horror and terror to tickle my funny bone.
Natalie Portman deserved the Academy Award for Best Actress and she rightfully got it. I could feel her emotion and believe her situation.The other actors were pretty great as well. The transformation of the white swan to the black swan is,as said,majestically twisted and very excellentlly portrayed.
And also,I think a celebrity crush developed from all of Natalie Portman's "playing." The subgenre of psychological thriller is back. Overall,epic.
