Review of Black Swan (2010) by Francisco R — 20 Jan 2013

Intense, dark and terrific movie. I loved Black Swan, between four and a half stars and five stars, I probably give it a four and half plus a half of half star, wich is equal to a 9.5 out of 10, but that doesn't matter, I actually might give it a five out of five and a ten out of ten, what matters is that Black Swan is an amazing movies that mixes up horror, drama and love that make a psychological thriller that I found amazing. This movie shouldn't just deserve an Oscar, because everything's perfect about it, the intesne soundrack, the amazing acting, I loved everything about this movie. Do I get why some people didn't like it? Well, yeah, I do, there's some really dark and rated R content in this movie wich makes people don't like it (Stupid), but I couldn't convience myself to do that, even though I wanted to, I just couldn't, because this movie's perfect elements distracted me. I loved Black Swan, it's defenitly Darren Aronofsky's best movie. Masterpiece movie.

Darren Aronofsky directs this movie perfectly, this is defenitly the best movie of his entire career, this movie follows the same genre of Darren's previous movie (The Wrestler), wich I haven't seen, but I'm sure it must Black Swan suprasses it in every way, amazing directing. Natalie Portman takes the lead role, she wasn't good at it, she wasn't amazing at it, she was none of those things playing her role, but yes she was terrific playing her role, she was just terrific at her acting, she plays a character that faces lots of feelings and Natalie Portman just doesn't matter, her acting is like her character, they're both amazing, but what's really good is Natalie's perfomance, it was defenitly the best of her career, and she did deserve the Oscar for best actress (The first Oscar of her career) and by the way, she used to be one of my favorite actresses, but she is now higher in my favourite actresses list, I say it again, she was fantastic, defenitly her best role, in a year, she played three characters in three diferent movies, two of them were characters from pouplar movies, one of them sucks (Emma- No Strings Attached) and the other one glows (Nina- Black Swan), I'm really glad it didn't happen to her what happened to Eddie Murphy, Natalie is known from Thor, Your Highness, Brothers and some other movies. Mila Kunis is also one of my favorite actresses, I'm not sure if this was the highlight of her career, but yes, she did good, I liked to see her in here and I gotta say that she was an excellent choise, but what matters is that she had a great perfomance and character, Mila is known from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Book of Eli, Date Night, Extract, Friends with Benefits and some other movies. Vincent Cassel was amazing in here, I tottally loved his characters and perfomance, he was really good in here, Vincent is known from Shrek, A Dangerous Method and some other movies. Sow, this is the main cast and as you can see, it's amazing, I loved every single actor in here in my own way, there's really fantastic characters and perfomances in this movie. Fantastic cast.

Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) is a ballet dancer that wins the lead in the "Swan Lake". She will do everything to impress Thomas (Vincent Cassel), the director, she just wants to be perfect, but she will do anything to be perfect. She will sort of live the ballet play, but what's worse about it is that of her to be similliar to the White Swan, she will lose her mind and slowly become more like the Black Swan.(What I thought about the plot) Well, this is what I think what the plot is about, this is what the movie is actually about and I loved the plot a lot, but I had no idea they were going to make it become 'this' (In a good way of course), I just loved the plot, I wouldn't make a single adjustment, it has no flaws and it worked really well, whoever wrote it must be a complete genius. Terrific plot.

Soundtrack, well, if you saw the trailer of Inception, you can see that they want you to know how good the movie's soundtrack is, in this trailer, they don't show that Black Swan has a... fantastic soundtrack, I'm surprised it wasn't composed by Hanz, cause this is amazing, one of the greates scores for a movie that have lots of things to do with the movie's story.

Besides all that, I am now going to tell you what I really thought about this movie. First of all, I knew that this movie had an 8.2 in IMDb and it was on IMDb's Top 250 list standing on the 132nd place of it, but for some stupid reason, I wasn't enjoying the movie so much at the beginning lika I though I was going to enjoy but then, like the movie, where Nina gets slowly insane, I got slowly more interested and by the ending of the movie, I just felt sad for the credits, just to show you how interesting this movie is and how good is the experiment that provides, this movie is just a masterpiece and it's one of my favorite movies. I tottally recommend you to see this movie, they joined it every single detail that they thought it would be good for the expirience, the soundyrack,t he acting, the sets, the back scratching, everything is not just a thing, it's actually a detail that leaves you even more interested, this movie is another defenition of movies and another defenition of masterpiece, it's intense, it's thrilling and it's one of the best movies I have ever seen, this would have work in every year or generation, this is what I like to call a true movie. Overall, this a total masterpiece, it has a great cast, a great plot, a great soundtrack and it's very entertaining, I highly recommend it, one of my favorite movies, this is probably the second best Oscar-Nominated movie in 2011, I tottally loved it. Masterpiece.
