Review of Black Swan (2010) by Frank V — 11 Feb 2014
The great Darren Arronofsky directs this technical masterpiece, that is expertly produced and acted. Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis both deliver one of their best performances to date. The atmosphere is almost always spot on, and that is mainly attributed to the fantastic use of renditions of classical pieces as a score.
The film takes some risky direction choices towards the end, some of which work and others not so much, but overall the film succeeds at making the viewer bleed into the psyche of this fragile and cracking mind.
4/5. Excellent.
