Review of Black Swan (2010) by Karl A — 21 Dec 2013
Wow ...Ive just seen movie magic...If you came here expecting a review of Black Swan , you will be disappointed! If you are here for the Black Swan love fest , then pull up a chair, because I have just experienced in my opinion the best film of the year...and Ive seen Inception ,The Town and Social Network .
I use the word experience because this film is meant to be felt as much as it is to be seen. Natalie Portman gives , hands down ,the best acting performance of the year and one that Im sure will become iconic.
Mila Kunis and Barbara Hershey embody the very meaning of supporting role , as they create the shoulders on which Natalie stands upon , spreads her wings and soars...
Aronofsky's direction is respectful , stunning and beautiful without being condescending and gives us one of the most satisfying ending for a film in years.
We all complain that Hollywood doent make enough quality films and my hope is that everyone rushes out and fills the theatre seats for this one , and then maybe, just maybe, we will see more films of this calibre in the future.....
