Review of Black Sunday (1960) by Todd C — 30 Jul 2009
Mario Bava's "Black Sunday" is a superior horror film. It's beautifully shot in a black & white, gothic panache reminiscent of classic horror movies from the 30s and 40s...with some visuals guaranteed to make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
Barbara Steele is good as Katia...but her performance as the evil witch Asa plays like someone you'd see in your most unsettling and chilling nightmares.
