Review of Black Sunday (1960) by Ricardo R — 29 Sep 2010
What "Night of the Living Dead" did for zombies "Black Sunday" does for vampires. For this to be Mario Bava's first feature film, I'm more than impressed, some directors cant even reach this quality by their fifth or sixth film.
The movie itself paints vampires as the children of Satan as intended. This movie didn't need a hefty amount of gore to prove its point, it's chilling atmosphere toke care of that, you almost feel like your watching a movie in a tomb.
Probably one of the most well made vampire movies.
