Review of Black Snake Moan (2006) by Jazz V — 25 Feb 2011
Surprisingly awesome. Jackson gives his best performance. What caught me off guard was that most of the dramatic moments work. Those scenes plus all the comedic bits (namely the camaraderie between Jackson and Ricci) make for an incredibly entertaining movie.
It's got a great style to it; at times it feels like a Tarantino or Rodriguez film. In the end, the message is sweeter than you'd think. Not for the faint of heart, but highly recommended.
