Gave this one a re-watch on Blu-ray recently and I have to stand by the initial impression that I had upon seeing it theatrically:
'Another interesting character study from Craig Brewer of people trying to claw their way out of hopeless situations and find some sort of peace or better life.'.
Really well done Blues and some great characters, well worth your time if you've not seen it.
