This is gruesome, gory and silly in almost all the right ways. It's utterly ridiculous but has some pretty decent effects and reasonably high production values, including some lovely NZ landscapes. But The Shire this is definitely not.
The script and acting aren't brilliant, but the cast play things commendably straight, letting the mayhem and gory effects take the lead.
