Review of Black Sea (2014) by Aaron R — 11 Feb 2015
What works - the setting is an effective vehicle for creating tension and drama throughout the film and the actors deliver solid performances given the script and the characters they are asked to play.
What doesn't work - The basic premiss of the movie works well enough but where the screenplay chooses to take the characters and the decisions seems contrived and unbelievable and untrue to them. So in the end the suspense brought to the movie is betrayed by unlikely actions that are not believable.
