Review of Black Sea (2014) by Ginak — 08 Feb 2015

It’s very sad that a fine film like this one did not find an audience. Jude Law gives a strong and soulful performance, and is supported by an excellent cast. Yes, we have seen the inside of a submarine before in Das Boot and The Hunt for Red October (one of my favorite films).

And the big company duping the little guy (Alien) is nothing new. However, this film was beautifully directed and you cared about the characters (and hated the weakness and greed of some of them too), and although it got fairly strong critical reviews, it’s a shame that more people did not discover this excellent film.
