Review of Black Sea (2014) by Claire M — 17 Dec 2014
Be prepared for TENSION! Black Sea follows a group of men chasing their fortune by going in search of a sunken German U-Boat containing gold. These men are marine salvage specialists, half English (well one Aussie) and half Russian.
From the moment they step foot on the tired old submarine to start their expedition you can sense the tension between the two camps, and when the sub dives into the depths of the Black Sea the oppression of the situation builds.
The setting is a grim, dark atmosphere, with nothing but cold black sea surrounding the vulnerable crew. This atmosphere also surrounds you as you watch the events unfold, you will physically feel the tension and want to shout at the screen or watch through your hands.
A fine group of actors, and although Law's accent may be questionable in parts, I thought it was a pretty good effort, but then I am not from Aberdeen! A round great suspense thriller which is enjoyable from start to finish.
