one of the joys of being home: lots of cable television, lots of movie channels..

ang lee directs, a 1997 film starring kevin kline, christina ricci, tobey maguire, elijah wood, et al. a direct with a true sense of nature and human's relation to nature. watching this film in the cold winter only adds to the affect. a john updike novel at 24 frames per second in a 1977 world..

Black Starz: Black Samurai.
its 1977, someone had a a bit of money, too little time and a really bad scriptwriter adapting the Black Samurai novels.A blaxplotation starring jim kelly. quite possibly one the worst films i've ever seen. Nintendo video games of the 80s like Double Dragon can certainly give a nod to these cult genre films of the 70s that tarantino would try to legitimize in the 90s and more recently in Kill Bill. yet, I somehow find this film with deep cultural value that could not be found anywhere else than the united states of america..
