Review of Black Rain (1989) by David G — 07 Apr 2009
Ridley Scott taps his Blade Runner mindset for this noir/action/thriller with some great imagery - plumes of fire, shafts of light and industrial fans set against the neon lights of Tokyo. Generally this is a good film with a strong storyline and good performances but the aforementioned visuals are complimented by too much dark drearyness and at over two hours it's too long for my liking.
