Review of Black Rain (1989) by Chris B — 29 Mar 2012
"Black Rain" is certainly not one of Ridley Scott's best, in fact far from it, but it's not his worst either. This is a really average film that unfortunately doesn't show off Scott's talent.
The only thing it does show off is Japan, both the overpopulated cities and the more serene countrysides. The acting is good and the backdrop of Japan is nice but the screenplay is just passable and nothing special at all.
We get a basic action film set in Japan and while it isn't anything unique, it's a good lazy day watch.
