Review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) by Dannyboy045 — 12 Nov 2022
A lot of the decisions they made throughout this just didn't sit right with me. Without getting into major spoilers, the MacGuffin they use to explain T'challa's death is so out of left field and you're thinking how could Wakanda not have the "cure" for that.
They can solve literally world hunger. His funeral they set up wasn't as impactful as it should have been and it didn't show what the citizens were emoting or going through really in detail. It was brushed off and easily forgotten.
Should they have just recast Black Panther? The villain in this had awful motives that were insane and made me want to see Killmonger again in the first one. I didn't like what happened to a certain character towards the second act that had me pissed instead of being sad, she was the best part of this.
Almost fell asleep at parts too as it drags and unnecessary side questing that is inconsequential to the plot gets boring fast. Follows the same MCU formula to play it safe, at this point, it is such a meme.
I'd much rather prefer a tribute short on a streaming service like what we saw at the end credits on the beach instead of a full feature-length film with this script. Not worth the ticket price tbh sorry not sorry.
