For me this fell really short. I think this is my least favorite Marvel film on first viewing. I've warmed up to the first Dr. Strange, the first Marvel film I didn't really like, but I'm not sure what to look for in this one to help the entertainment or enjoyment factor.

I enjoyed watching this less than "Thor Dark World." The motivation driving the plot forward for every character is really weak, except for the Queen. That angle was really good and I liked that she didn't pull any punches.

There are so many pointless ancillary characters. Remember Martin Freeman's CIA character from the last movie? Well yay because he'll be on screen not really doing much of anything with any of the main cast and just slightly nudging the plot forward.

..maybe. There's a lot of that. There's a lot of dealing with loss, real loss, but without the care that felt like went into crafting how it was handled in the last Marvel film. There isn't any of the dealing with loss with humor that is fairly standard in the MCU and that was too much for me.

I need that release. I didn't expect it to be fun, but the lead played by Latitia Wright just didn't carry the movie. Angela Basset was amazing and so was Lupita Nyong'o. Danai Gurira also ruled, but so much of her redemption arch is just brush under the rug.

I don't think Namor was a good villain here which is too bad. He is an interesting character and it's great that he's in the MCU. In the end it just felt so very cliche to me. If you enjoyed it that is awesome.

The people with me got very emotional for all of the tribute to Chadwick. He is a big part of what made the MCU so great and fresh again with the first movie and all of his appearances in the other movies.

I'll watch it again and how to find something more then what I missed the first time around. For right now I can't recommend this to people who deal with tragedy with comedy or levity. There just isn't any of that to be found here.
