Review of Black or White (2015) by Morris D — 26 Nov 2015
As Hollywood continues to promote images of Black women in functional and sexually passionate relationships with White men on television and the big screen, it chooses to create this piece of s**t of a movie. A story with a whimsical, dysfunctional, alcoholic Black man (Reggie) who impregnates an attractive intelligent young white girl who is from a loving upper class family.
At one point it is revealed that Reggie declared himself (to his daughter's deceased mother) as a "street nigga." Reggie has no genuine interest in his daughter (Eloise). He almost kills his daughter's grandfather, and never gets his act together.
This movie is offensive on so many levels, and I don't have the time to get to the details. Reggie is a classic stereotypical loser Black man with a criminal past who has no interest in his child. Black people should have boycotted the crap out of this movie, and once again the public was protected from the Black man with a white woman image. The message of this film is clear... "Black men ain't s**t, and won't be s**t.".
This movie is garbage.
