Review of Black Narcissus (1947) by James-Masaki R — 07 Nov 2011
British nuns in a convent far up in the Himalaya mountains succuming to madness. Powell and Pressburger's colorful technicolor film is one that brings the audience into the uncomfortable downward spiral way up in the high altitudes, with gorgeously made setpieces(!) built in Pinewood.
That's right, nothing was shot in India, believe it or not. Magical, and sometimes frightening.
