Review of Black Narcissus (1947) by Cli O — 24 Nov 2008
Powell and Pressburger serve up a morally challenging, visually stunning melodrama, with emotions hidden away and worldly challenges masquerading as need in one of their finest films. Jack Cardiff's cinematography is the true star alongside the stunning production design.
One that needs to be viewed repeatedly.
