Behind perhaps only Terrence Malick's "Days of Heaven", "Black Narcissus", another beyond-awe work of artistic philosophy from directorial partners Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger (whose collaborative filmography encompasses nearly 50 films, including all-time classics "49th Parallel", 1940's "The Thief of Baghdad", "A Canterbury Tale", and maybe their two most famous works, "A Matter of Life and Death" and "The Red Shoes"), is the most lushly-photographed and staged motion picture ever.
Miraculously, its story and the way in which its story is told are equally brilliant.
