Spellbinding and bizarre - Black Narcissus has an unusual premise, to say the least. It centers around a group of nuns who establish a convent in a former brothel in the Himalayas, and slowly are driven into madness and lust.
Black Narcissus is creepy, surreal, and darkly funny, with beautifully exotic Technicolor visuals and wild cinematography. A dark gem, one of my favorite films of the 1940's.
