Johnny Depp's best performance in ages. This film is incredibly dark in detailing the slow progression and murder-by-numbers approach of Whitey Bulger and the Winter Hill Gang. The direction is crisp and gruesome, while the portrayals of the key players involved reveals the worst in humanity.
A dark, but worthwhile viewing.
