Review of Black Mass (2015) by Richard H — 17 Nov 2015
Maybe my expectations were too high but a world-class cast of superb character actors just seem to get lost under the bleak, weight of the script. Things feel authentic and gritty but often it feels a bit vague.
The moral dilemma of the FBI agents never comes across as strong as you want it to. Whilst this is Depp's best performance for years with a superb character, it's actually Edgerton that steals the show.
