Compelling and considered, this was better than expected. The performances were brilliant, Depp was exceptional, bringing subtlety and iciness to the portrayal of Bulger. The storyline was engaging, and whilst the pacing could have been better, the style of the cinematography and the dialogue were well executed.
A fascinating insight into 1980's crime in Boston that is worth your time. 8.
