Clearly, Depp's greatest performance as James "Whitey" Bulger - a man so feared that to cross him almost always means death. While everything here is what Martin Scorsese would have made 20 years back, Depp with his bald head, unsettling blue eyes and carrying that sly, dehydrated lizard look is sinister in a way you'll celebrate his return after 'The Tourist' and 'Alice in Wonderland'.
