There are so many subtleties to this film that I cannot even begin to list them all. The undertones of revolution and the final moral in this heart-warming tale are underlined by the hilarity of the jokes.
Martin Lawrence obviously has a very mature sense of humour and isn't afraid to show his softer more emotional side, as he does in this sprawling epic.
