Ridley Scott's direction is great and there is non-stop action. A very appealing cast with Josh Hartnett, Orlando Bloom, and Ewan McGregor, but there are no performances that stick out to me. While there aren't any great performances the action is great.
Black Hawk Down is up there as one of the most enjoyable war films, and the direction is in my opinion the best part of the film. A intense drama that does not shy away from the war violence, and I do have to clap my hands for how well it honors the book.
Ridley Scott shows how much direction alone can do for a film. Black Hawk Down is a well made, solidly acted, and wonderfully directed war film.
