Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Nolan L — 01 Dec 2011
Right on the same league with Saving Private Ryan, except in this case the character development is not anywhere relevant to the story (based on a true one that is) that takes you directly into the chaotic battle sequences after the first 40 minutes.
It's realistic and intense beyond belief all throughout, the sound and film editing is exquisite and well-deserved an Academy Award win, and it's overall purpose of portraying a (real-life) seemingly simple mission gone sadly and horrificly FUBAR is done with probable perfection.
Another war movie at it's finest.
