Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Brian C — 12 Nov 2012
A frightening look at a tragic battle that most have forgotten. The intensity doesn't let up for a second. It's brutal, tragic, and harrowing, but it's also among the most satisfying action films imaginable.
If any film could be said to have "non-stop action" it's easily this one. The whole experience is enhanced by the truth behind the story; the situation is as impossible and hopeless as it gets, our nerves are shattered by the relentless brutality and constant threat of death, and our souls are inspired by the endless acts of heroism and unimaginable bravery shown by the men involved.
Great action film, great historical document, and secretly a great "guy cry" movie as well. One of my favorite war films.
