Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Tommy H — 23 Feb 2015
When it comes to war movies, there are many great ones, but few manage to really capture the brutality of war. However, Black Hawk Down does that almost perfectly. This is a disturbing, graphic film that does anything but glorify war.
When the film shows you a man getting blown in half and having his intestines and internal organs slew all over the ground, all while being told by his friend he'll get to see his family again as he dies, you realize that war isn't cool.
The film isn't much when it comes to deep characters, but it's one of the most realistic looks at combat put to screen. I dare you to watch this film and still say going into the army looks cool.
